    Rubio Monocoat Pre-Aging Authentic 4 - non-reactive pre-treatment, that gives wood an aged appearance

    Pre-Aging is a high-quality, non-reactive pre-treatment, that gives wood an aged appearance. Application provides a deep color with subtle accents. Available in 10 shades, the color spectrum ranges from a lighter to a darker smoked look, with colors that can be mixed with each other to create custom looks.

    Attention

    This product is a pre-treatment and does not protect the wood. It has to be combined with one of our Rubio Monocoat finishing products for maximum protection.

    Instructions

    An overview of instructions. Please consult the TDS here for complete product information.

    1. Sand surface without making scratches and vacuum.
    2. Apply Pre-Aging to the surface using a painters tray and the Rubio Monocoat Microber Bristle Pad. For edges and corners, apply with a cut in pad then smooth the Pre-Aging using a white pad. Work along the length of the boards, in widths of 10-15 inches. Avoid forming puddles.
    3. Allow to dry for about 24 hours and ensure sufficient ventilation. TIP: It is perfectly normal for the surface to dry in ‘spots’ that follow the grain pattern. As long as the surface still looks ‘spotted’, it is not dry yet.
    4. After drying (approx. 24 hours if there is sufficient ventilation), break the raised wood fibers using a buffer with a red pad. Vacuum and finish with a color from the Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C range. No buffing needed.

    Rubio Monocoat

    The company Muylle-Facon was founded in 1906. It produced high-quality putties and sealants for woodworking companies and glaziers. Over time, production expanded to include construction chemicals, focusing on waterproof materials, water-resistant coatings, and sealants used in construction.

    In 1962, the first range of products aimed at wood treatment and protection against weathering was introduced.

    Over time, through close collaboration between the development department and a team of experts from the woodworking industry, a unique single-coat wood protection system was developed: Rubio Monocoat oils.

    Today, Rubio Monocoat products are recognized for their quality and affordable price by customers worldwide. The sales network covers 80 countries, from Australia through Asia and Europe to the USA.
